Cookie policy

This site uses no cookies

Not a technical one, not an analytics one, not a profiling one. The site is made of pages generated ahead of time and served as they are: it has no session to remember, no login, no preferences to carry between visits.

For the same reason there is no cookie banner. That is neither an oversight nor a shortcut: a banner exists to collect consent, and here there is nothing to ask consent for. Showing you one anyway would be a pointless click asked of you for my own peace of mind.

You can check for yourself

I am not asking you to take my word for it. Open your browser's developer tools (F12), Application or Storage tab, Cookies: for impicciando.it the list is empty.

From the command line it is quicker still — if a set-cookie line shows up, this page needs updating and I would be grateful if you told me:

Not the cookie substitutes either

The site writes to neither localStorage nor sessionStorage, does no browser fingerprinting, loads no fonts from external servers and embeds no videos, maps or social buttons. Everything a page needs comes from this domain.

Fonts are self-hosted rather than pulled from Google Fonts: fetching them from an external server would mean handing your IP to a third party on every page, which is exactly the kind of thing this page exists to rule out.

No analytics

There is no Google Analytics and no replacement for it, not even the ones that present themselves as privacy-friendly. I do not know how many people read these pages, and for now that is fine.

The only thing I see is the aggregate request count in the Cloudflare dashboard, which uses no cookies and tells no one apart.

One case that could change

Cloudflare, which hosts the site, can under some defensive configurations set a technical cookie of its own — typically __cf_bm, to tell automated traffic from human traffic — lasting a few minutes. As of the date below it is not being set, as the command above lets you verify.

Should I enable those protections one day, it would still be a cookie strictly necessary for security and exempt from consent; either way I would update this page first.

If you want to block them anyway

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies from its privacy settings. On this site nothing visible will change, because there is nothing to block. On other sites it may break things: that is the trade-off of the setting, not of this site.
